Day two at Adelaide: could the worst happen?

Are we actually going to lose five-nil to this lot? It was one thing getting demolished by McGrath, Warne, and the rest of the fine Australian side of 2006/07, but this is a different matter entirely. In terms of the supporter experience, this series has been like turning back the clock to the dark days of the 1990s and early 2000s – waking up each morning in dread fear of looking at the score, terrified at the prospect of the awaiting horrors. But that was when we were up against the likes of Ricky Ponting, Steve Waugh and Brett Lee – not this bunch of hacks and journeymen. After Brisbane, a TFT reader took me to task for belittling the merits of this Australian team, but I stand by it, however ignominious the scorecard looks. We are very probably going to lose the Ashes to a side who have only one batsman of genuine test class. Chris Rogers is an over-the-hill county player trying his best. SAF Series - Predictable, huge win for the hosts
December 06, 2013 (12:45) [ Indexed from Indian Cricket Unleashed
The Indian team started their sojourn with a huge loss after conceding one of the largest totals that South Africa had scored in ODIs. The only silver lining in this defeat was the fact that the team had many players who will be playing most of the matches on tour and this was the best practice they could gain of the conditions they would mostly face against the best opposition eleven.
